Wood will never go out of style. Woods are warmth materials and despite the modern society we have people still prefer the beauty that wooden home furniture can provide- from our chairs, dinning tables, home decor, wooden tiles and curtain rods, our beds and wardrobes. Doors made of pine are among the list of recent want-to-buys of homeowners.

However, the downsides of wood will soon be exposed. Pine doors will slag because of humidity and continuous weather changes. It will also break due to scratches and cracks. They will eventually bend and twist after some time. Pine front door will show reactions towards the weather temperature, wood will expand in summer and will result to breakage and in winter doors will create a separation between the walls, which only means cold might just enter through our doors. Wood is known to be vulnerable to insect and termite attacks. In case a replacement is needed, wooden doors can easily be replaced because of its availability in the market.
Consistent maintenance is needed in any wooden fixtures. There’s also a need to periodically check the condition of our doors. Use a cleaner that works well with wood. Do not use chemicals in removing dust or dirt. Any defects or damage must be reported to the manufacturer or interior designers to get immediate remedy. Some of us use paint, wax or even varnish in our doors but experts are not recommending applying any of these. We actually don’t need to, unless it’s a bare looking door without any design carve in it, then we just have to leave them as it is.
